Your Security Is Our Concern

As part of Denali Alaskan’s Above & Beyond commitment to your financial success, we have developed this page to help you protect your account security.

There are many ways people may try to breach your account, from low tech efforts such as “dumpster diving” (literally, going into garbage cans to find statements or other financial information which may have been thrown into the trash) to “phishing” (sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft).

The most common phishing scheme directs you to a web site where you are asked to update personal information, such as passwords and credit card, social security, and bank account numbers, that the legitimate organization already has. The web site, however, is bogus and set up only to steal the user’s information.

Denali Alaskan never asks for such information via e-mail, nor do our staff members call you to ask for such information over the phone.

New Phone Scam Alert.

The Anchorage Police Department Financial Crimes Unit has received reports of a telephone scam.  Automated phone calls, representing themselves as coming from local financial institutions, say the individual's card had been fraudulently used and therefore had been suspended.  The individual is asked to press a number to reactivate the account, at which time the victim asked for personal information including account number, PIN, and passwords.

DO NOT give out personal information to unknown and unsolicited sources.

Check scams

When someone offers to pay you more then the asking price, you receive a job offer overseas, or you receive a check for a large sum of money with the only stipulation being you need to wire a portion to someone else then you are being scammed.  On average a check scam will rob a person of $3000-$4000.  The best way to avoid being taken advantage of is education of what to look for as well as reporting offenders.  Please visit Fakechecks.org today to find out more on how you can avoid being the latest victim.

ZERO TOLERANCE FOR FRAUD

Bad news headlines about mortgages tell about homeowners who made risky mortgages with other lenders – lenders who want a loan on their books even if it’s a bad deal for you.  We don’t operate that way.  Denali Alaskan Mortgage has zero tolerance for fraud; we will not force you to take a mortgage loan which does not fit your home financing needs.  Make your dreams of home ownership a reality by contacting the mortgage professionals at Denali Alaskan Mortgage, at 257-1601 or on-line at www.damortgage.com.
