Description:
Calls on non-member businesses and individuals to introduce them to the Credit Union and its products. Determines how the credit union can assist the prospect with their banking needs and solicits their business making referrals to the appropriate branch manager or department. Attend functions, such as Chamber of Commerce luncheons and seek other opportunities to network.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. As the lead calling officer for the credit union, cultivate relationships with centers of influence and natural market both to keep them updated on products and to obtain their business and referrals.
2. Develop a top prospects list and keep it updated.
3. Call on prospective members to determine how they can benefit from our products and services and to solicit their business.
4. Call on existing business members to obtain their deposit and other relationships.
5. Determine which branch is most convenient for the prospect and make a warm hand-off to the branch manager.
6. Help develop credit union business deposit products.
7. Coordinate with Visa, Investments, DAI, Mortgage, Real Estate, MBL and other departments to keep abreast of their current product campaigns and sales goals.
8. Open deposit, merchant service, payroll and tax services as needed.
9. Assist in underwriting loan applications and obtain loan approvals as needed.
10. Assist in underwriting Corporate Visa applications as needed.
11. Conduct periodic follow-ups with new members to ensure their needs are being met and to solicit additional business/obtain referrals.
12. Provide member and non-member feedback to appropriate managers.
13. Work with the Marketing Officer to solicit new Select Employee Groups.
14. Prepare reports to management and the Board of Directors as required.
15. Develop and maintain a business plan.
16. Meet sales and calling goals.
17. Assist with Member Appreciation Day and other functions.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education:
Undergraduate degree in a related field, or equivalent industry related experience and training.
Required Experience:
Two (2) years experience as a Financial Services Officer, relationship manager or loan officer. Experience in selling deposit products and experience in business lending in a sales environment highly desirable.
Servi-Star Requirements:
1. Maintain a staff satisfaction rating of 4.0 out of 5.0 using the Internal Service Survey and based on the service standards established by Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union.
2. Maintain a member satisfaction rating of 6.0 out of 7.0 using the Quality Loop Software and based on the service standards established by Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union.
3. Complete Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union’s Product assessment within 90 days of employment with a score of 100%. (Note this assessment may be taken as many times as needed to achieve this score).
Skill Requirements:
Must become intimately familiar with credit union products. Demonstrates a history of working with and meeting sales goals. Is familiar with proper calling techniques. Must have the ability to develop a calling plan and maintain record of calls and results. Is able to analyze financial statements and prepare loan presentations.
